Kapoor sfida il Rinascimento, uno scontro a Firenze

Anish Kapoor’s exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence challenges the symmetrical order of the space. Kapoor has broken and played with the rooms, highlighting the contradiction between the large spaces and small artworks. The exhibition, titled “Untrue Unreal,” explores themes of the finiteness of life and our lack of awareness of what awaits us. The exhibition begins with a site-specific installation in the courtyard called Void Pavillon VII, which leads to an interior space with black circles on the walls. The exhibition showcases Kapoor’s artistic journey, from monumental sculptures to interactive rooms that distort perception. The most powerful and carnal space features Kapoor’s gigantic silicone paintings, including “Today You Will Be in Paradise,” which has both sensual and religious connotations. The exhibition runs until February 4th.
