Arezzo Verticale, the first and only climbing gym in the city, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The gym was founded in 2013 by a group of climbers from the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) who wanted to create a training environment for mountain climbing. Over the years, the gym has grown to over 150 square meters of walls of different difficulties, inclinations, and heights. Recently, Arezzo Verticale won a bid for the redevelopment of the city’s sports facilities, which will include improvements such as new changing rooms. As a result, the gym has been granted free management of the climbing area for 20 years. The gym offers a range of climbing activities and courses for all ages, with 150 members currently. To celebrate the anniversary, the gym will host an event on November 3rd, featuring a bouldering contest and the launch of a competition to design a new logo for Arezzo Verticale. The logo design should capture the essence of climbing, sport, values, and the local area, and will be judged by a panel of expert climbers.
