Paolo Bellini, former member of Avanguardia nazionale, is being investigated by the Caltanissetta Prosecutor’s Office for the Capaci massacre. He had already been questioned last Monday in Rome by magistrates from Caltanissetta and Florence for the 1993 attacks. Bellini denied any involvement. The investigation aims to clarify the reason for Bellini’s presence in Sicily before the Capaci massacre. Bellini had met Nino Gioè, a boss involved in the Capaci massacre, in prison in 1988. Santino Di Matteo, a mafia informant, mentioned Bellini in relation to a possible negotiation for the recovery of stolen artworks.
