– BEIJING, AUGUST 20 – China has approved a strict privacy law, in force since November 1st, to prevent companies from collecting sensitive personal data against the increase in Internet fraud, data leakage and abuses alleged to the technological giants and the web on the personal information of customers. According to the rules approved by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Assembly, legislative branch of the Chinese parliament, state and private companies that handle personal information must reduce data collection and have user consent. State security apparatuses will keep access to personal data. (HANDLE).
