Geremia, a prophet in the Bible, faced insults and persecution when he condemned the people’s betrayals towards their alliance with God. This experience can be related to that of Don Lorenzo Milani, who began his ministry as a pastor in Calenzano, where he faced conflicts, accusations, and rejections. He was eventually sent to the small community of Barbiana. Don Lorenzo arrived in Calenzano in 1947 and deeply involved himself with the people. He founded the San Donato Popular School, opened to all, and dedicated his time to studying and practical activities. Despite the challenges, he remained obedient to the truth and served the community.
