This year’s edition will feature some of the most important names in oriental comics, with thirteen authors from Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan. Among them are Naoki Urasawa, Hiro Mashima, Usamaru Furuya, Masaaki Ninomiya, Kan Takahama, Keigo Shinzo, Shintaro Kago, Satsuki Yoshino, and Eldo Yoshimizu. The program also includes the Graphic Novel Theatre, which will present the theatrical adaptation of Craig Thompson’s autobiographical comic “Blankets”. Another highlight is the horror night featuring renowned Italian voice actors performing live scenes from works of Stephen King and other horror masters. The Lucca Comics & Games Award Ceremony is another highly anticipated event, where winners of the Lucca Comics Awards will be announced. There will also be special encounters with notable authors such as Naoki Urasawa, Jim Lee, and Garth Ennis. The program will explore various themes, including storytelling in America and the depiction of wars and peace in comics.
