The National Center for the fight against online child pornography of the Postal Police recorded a 232% increase in cases treated in the first quarter of 2021: from 475 to 1,578; the suspects are also growing strongly, from 181 to 454. The data were provided by the Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese at a hearing with the Childhood Committee.
The growth trend of this crime is also confirmed by last year’s data. The National Center, explained Lamorgese, treated 3,243 cases in 2020 against 1,396 in 2019; the number of suspects doubled, from 663 to 1,261. (HANDLE).
