Denise Pacini, a resident of Pisa, has been fined twice for not having a ticket while traveling on bus routes she claims to have never taken. She received the fines in June and July 2023 and immediately filed a complaint. She has also provided evidence from Google Maps showing that she was elsewhere at the time of the incidents. Pacini suspects that someone without a ticket gave her name and address to the ticket inspectors. She has filed a police report for identity theft. Pacini questions why the identity of passengers cannot be verified by asking for identification documents, even if passengers can refuse to provide them. She wants to fight not only for herself but also for those who may not have the means to file a complaint. Autolinee Toscane, the bus company, is currently investigating the matter and will respond as soon as their offices reopen.
