– PLOVDIV, AUGUST 15 – Italy closes the Junior Rowing World Championships in Plovdiv with a ‘loot’ of 7 medals: 1 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze. This allows the Azzurri to place fifth in the medal table for nations, won by the USA with 4 medals (3-0-1), and to be the second country for number of podiums won, behind only Germany with 9 medals (2- 3-4).

It was an Italy that, present in all 14 specialties of the program, and that placed 13 crews in the final. The gold was won by the Quattro with male formed by Simone Pappalepore, Emilio Pappalettera, by the twins Marco and Luca Vicino (brothers of Giuseppe Vicino, Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze in four without) and who together with the helmsman Andrea Pagliaro dominated a final where the silver medal went to Turkey, while the bronze one to France.
