Antonio Napolitano nominato vicepresidente dell’Unione Interporti Riuniti, ruolo di rilevanza nazionale.

Antonio Napolitano has been appointed Vice President of UIR (Unione degli Interporti Riuniti), the national association of Italian logistics infrastructure operators. The announcement was made during the renewal of the association’s leadership. Napolitano will serve alongside President Matteo Gasparato and other Vice Presidents Gianpaolo Serpagli, Tiziana Maiori, Brigida Alaimo, and Franco Pasqualetti. The roles were unanimously approved by the association’s assembly. Napolitano, who has been the CEO of the Interporto della Toscana Centrale since June 2022, will be responsible for national customs services, the Customs Agency, corridors, and relations with various logistics associations. These responsibilities are crucial for the future development of logistics in Prato and the entire Tuscany region. The UIR aims to improve connections between interports and Italian ports, simplify administrative and tax processes for interport management companies, address the issue of property tax (IMU), and promote digitalization. Napolitano emphasized the importance of managing relations with Customs, particularly for Prato and Tuscany, as it could create a strategically important customs hub, bringing further opportunities and development to the region. The UIR network encompasses 26 interports across Italy, covering approximately 43 million square meters and hosting 1,200 transport companies with over 20,000 employees.
