Siena has been awarded a European funding of €171,645 for the project Ed.U.Co (Educational Urban Community), as part of the Cerv program (Citizenship, Equality, Rights, and Values). The Cerv program aims to support and develop open, democratic, fair, and inclusive societies based on rights. The Ed.U.Co project, led by Siena, involves eight European cities, Italy, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, and Cyprus. Each city will organize an event focused on the theme of educational communities. The Cerv program has four pillars, equality, rights, and gender equality; citizen involvement and participation in the democratic life of the European Union; fighting gender violence and violence against minors; and protection and promotion of European values. The funding received is seen as a source of satisfaction and validation of Siena’s projects promoting and protecting the values and rights of people in line with the principles of the European Union. The next step is to involve citizens and project partners in implementing this ambitious educational project.
