Stefano Sollima dirigerà una serie sul Mostro di Firenze per Netflix.

Stefano Sollima, one of Italy’s most acclaimed directors and screenwriters, known for series like “Romanzo Criminale,” “Gomorra,” and “ZeroZeroZero,” as well as films like “Suburra,” “Soldado,” and “Senza Rimorso,” is set to direct a new project. Titled “The Monster,” it is a four-part miniseries produced by Netflix that will investigate one of Italy’s most notorious unsolved cases, the “Monster of Florence.” The case refers to a presumed serial killer who terrorized the outskirts of Florence between 1974 and 1985, committing seven double homicides targeting young couples. The series, written by Sollima and Leonardo Fasoli, will reconstruct real events through direct testimonies, trial records, and journalistic investigations. Production has already begun, although the cast has not yet been announced. Sollima explained that the storytelling will not follow a purely chronological order but will approach the case from different angles. The case remains unsolved to this day.
