Arezzo is hosting the 20th edition of the Urban Trekking event on October 31st. This year, the event will showcase a unique itinerary that highlights the city’s lost stories and traditions, including the famous Saracen Joust. The event will begin with a visit to the “Colors of the Joust” exhibition at Palazzo Comunale, followed by two guided treks through the historic center. Participants will have the opportunity to discover hidden treasures and learn about the city’s medieval history and renowned artists such as Piero della Francesca and Giorgio Vasari. The morning trek will start at 10 am and the afternoon trek at 2,30 pm, both covering a distance of 2.3 kilometers. The meeting point is Piazza della Libertà, and registration is required on the Discover Arezzo website or at the Tourist Information Office. The morning trek will include visits to the Saracen Joust exhibition, Arezzo Cathedral, and the Church of San Pier Piccolo. After a picnic lunch at the Prato, participants will continue to Piazza Grande, the Church of Santa Maria, and the Abbey of SS. Flora and Lucilla. The afternoon trek will follow a similar route, with additional visits to the Cathedral of Santi Pietro e Donato, the Park, and the Medici Fortress, where the Musicians of the Saracen Joust will perform at 4 pm. The trek will end at Piazza della Badia with a visit to the church.
