– ISTANBUL, AUGUST 16 – The death toll from the floods that hit the western Black Sea regions on the northern coast of Turkey in recent days continues to worsen. According to the new bulletin released this morning by the civil protection of Ankara (Afad), the confirmed deaths have risen to 70, of which 60 in the province of Kastamonu, 9 in Sinop and 1 in Bartin.
Search and rescue activities for any survivors continue, along with those to clean up the flooded areas of mud debris, which have submerged homes, roads and cars, also destroying bridges and other civilian infrastructure. (HANDLE).
