After months of searching for a place to live, Josef decided to put up an ad on subito.it offering to pay 450 euros for any space, even just a corner of a garden, where he could pitch a tent. He described the difficulty of finding a house in Florence, with high prices and unacceptable living conditions. Josef, who comes from the Alta Toscana, is working in the city for a design and installation company. He has seen many small, dirty rooms being offered at exorbitant prices. He even received an offer to share a double bed near Piazza Santa Croce. While Josef has found a place in Scandicci, his experience is shared by hundreds of young people in the city.
