Banca Monte dei Paschi is planning to close 50 branches by the end of the year. The list of branches, consisting of 45 multichannel branches and 5 advanced branches, has already been given to the company’s trade unions. These closures will affect a total of 204 employees, including 65 managers and 139 professionals. The branches to be closed are located in various regions, including Tuscany, Abruzzo-Molise- Alto Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Piemonte-Liguria, Lazio, Sicily, Calabria, Umbria, Marche, Veneto Est, Friuli, and Trentino. The bank assures that there will be a strategic plan and organizational processes in place to ensure a smooth transition and preserve the continuity of customer relationships. Additionally, there are plans to invest in strengthening the remaining commercial network. Discussions between the company and trade unions regarding the branch closures will begin in late October.
