Andrea D’Amato has been appointed as the new manager of Gsk’s site in Rosia, which is a global center for the production of bacterial vaccines. He replaces Maria Chiara Amadei, who has taken on a global role within the company as the head of secondary production for GSK Vaccines. D’Amato has a background in chemistry and pharmaceutical technology and has worked for Merck, holding positions of increasing responsibility in both the Italian and global sites. He most recently led Merck’s Biotech Campus in Switzerland, which employs around 1,000 people. D’Amato expressed his pride in taking on this role and sees it as a stimulating challenge with great responsibility. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Rosia site within the GSK network, particularly in the production of key vaccines.
