Tour internazionale per i libri d’artista di Monica Michelotti
Monica Michelotti, a professor and artist at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, will be exhibiting her artist’s books in shows in Florence and Lugano, Switzerland. The Swiss project involves 31 artists who have reinterpreted Hermann Hesse’s famous text “The Childhood of the Magician” as contemporary artist’s books. Inspired by the imagery and emotions evoked by Hesse’s autobiographical work, the artists have transformed the book into a visual and tactile art form. The exhibition, curated by Marcel Henry and Chiara Ottavi in collaboration with Doppio Senso and Libri Liberi, is currently being held at the prestigious Hermann Hesse Museum in Lugano until March 3, 2024. Michelotti will also be participating in the 19th Artist’s Book 2023 event at the Marucelliana Library in Florence, where works by 37 international artists will be on display. In addition to these exhibitions, Michelotti has also contributed to the seventh volume of “L’arte in cucina. Gli artisti incontrano gli chef,” published by Mondadori and dedicated to desserts. The volume will be presented in Milan tomorrow.
