Figlio di Lando Conti critica polemiche sull’ex Nar agli Uffizi.

Lorenzo Conti, son of former mayor Lando Conti who was murdered by the Red Brigades in 1986, expresses his disagreement with the recent controversy surrounding the invitation of an ex-terrorism member to give an art lecture at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. While he considers it to be an act of naivety, Conti argues that other former terrorists have held positions in Parliament and made public appearances discussing their involvement in acts of terrorism. He specifically criticizes the appointment of Sergio D’Elisa, a former terrorist, as the secretary of the President of the Chamber of Deputies. Conti also condemns the statement made by Anna Balzerani, a former leader of the Red Brigades involved in the Via Fani massacre, who described being a family member of terrorism victims as a “job”. He points out the lack of widespread condemnation from the left in response to these incidents, arguing that victims should be respected regardless of the ideological background of their killers. Conti accuses the left, including the Democratic Party (Pd), of not reacting strongly enough to the offenses made by Balzerani, contrasting it with the recent backlash against the invitation of an ex-NAR member to the Uffizi Gallery. He highlights the difference in reactions between the Uffizi incident, which was canceled, and the event at the CPA (Autonomous Political Center), which was not. Conti defends the former Uffizi director, Eike Schmidt, stating that he does not believe the invitation was motivated by election campaigning or visibility and criticizes the lack of demands for resignations of former terrorists who hold positions of power. Finally, he expresses his positive opinion of Schmidt and suggests that he would be a suitable candidate for the center-right.
