Nicola Bertocci, a specialist in emergency medicine, has been appointed as the director of the 118 emergency center in Livorno-Pisa. He previously led the emergency-urgent structure in Pistoia and was responsible for a telemedicine project that allowed immediate intervention on patients through video calls. Bertocci highlights the successful collaboration with the volunteer sector in Pistoia, which enabled investments in early defibrillation and dedicated telemedicine services. Despite moving to the new center, Bertocci expresses gratitude to Piero Paolini, his mentor and friend, for his guidance throughout his career.
