Addio alla signora della ferramenta, Livorno piange per la sua amata imprenditrice Rosa.
Renata Losso, a determined and resilient entrepreneur, founded the La Rosa Hardware store in Livorno, Italy, 42 years ago. She continued to work at the store until May 16, when she suffered a serious domestic accident. Despite discovering she had cancer, she still went to work, even in the afternoons after receiving chemotherapy in the morning. Renata had an immense strength and the cancer did not cause her pain for six years. The entire city is mourning the loss of this 78-year-old businesswoman who, together with her husband Roberto Papiri, built the Ferramenta La Rosa into a community landmark. The store has now been passed on to their children Silvia and Valerio, as well as their 21-year-old nephew Matteo, who represents the third generation of Livorno merchants. Renata’s transformation of the store was like raising a child, as it had become her identity. By combining the experience of her parents with the enthusiasm of the younger generation, the store has been able to maintain its traditions while adapting to modern technologies, such as joining the Mepa portal, enabling them to supply public entities. The store also collaborates with well-known brands like the German footwear manufacturer Lowa, even providing shoes to the special security team of the Italian President. Unfortunately, Renata had a fall on May 16, fracturing her arm and preventing her from continuing her active role in the store. As a result, she received palliative care until her passing. The funeral will be held at the La Rosa church at 3,30 PM today.
