Matteo Valdambrini, a 26-year-old from Prato, Italy, has been sentenced to ten years and four months in prison by the Court of Appeals in Florence. He was arrested by the Florence Mobile Team in June 2020, accused of leading a cult and forcing his followers to engage in sexual acts after convincing them he was the ‘Devil’. In the first trial, Valdambrini was sentenced to six years for five out of thirteen counts of sexual violence and acquitted of the charge of reducing individuals to slavery.
